DVIDifference Vegetation Index

VegetationMultispectralCitation Rank #45

Summary

The Difference Vegetation Index (DVI) is a vegetation spectral index intended for multispectral sensing. It was introduced in 1995; its source is cited as Jean-Louis Roujean, & François-Marie Breon (1995). Estimating PAR absorbed by vegetation from bidirectional reflectance measurements. Remote Sensing of Environment, 51(3). https://doi.org/10.1016/0034-4257(94)00114-3 .

Based on the latest citation data, this index is in the 86.12th percentile overall, ranking 45 out of 317 indices with citation data. Among the 22 indices published within two years of 1995, it ranks 13 (45.45th percentile). Within the vegetation application domain, it is in the 81.69th percentile and ranks 40 out of 213 indices with citation data. Among the 21 similarly aged vegetation indices, it ranks 12 (47.62th percentile).
