DVIDifference Vegetation Index

VegetationMultispectralCitation Rank #41

Summary

The Difference Vegetation Index (DVI) is a vegetation spectral index intended for multispectral sensing. It was introduced in 1995; its source is cited as Jean-Louis Roujean, & François-Marie Breon (1995). Estimating PAR absorbed by vegetation from bidirectional reflectance measurements. Remote Sensing of Environment, 51(3). https://doi.org/10.1016/0034-4257(94)00114-3 .

Based on the latest citation data, this index is in the 87.22th percentile overall, ranking 41 out of 313 indices with citation data. Among the 22 indices published within two years of 1995, it ranks 9 (63.64th percentile). Within the vegetation application domain, it is in the 83.41th percentile and ranks 36 out of 211 indices with citation data. Among the 21 similarly aged vegetation indices, it ranks 8 (66.67th percentile).
