IBAIMImproved Burned Area Index adapted to MODIS

BurnMultispectralCitation Rank #312

Summary

The Improved Burned Area Index adapted to MODIS (IBAIM) is a burn spectral index intended for multispectral sensing. It was introduced in 2007; its source is cited as Israel Gómez Nieto, & M. P. Martín (2007). Improving the performance of the BAIM index for burnt area mapping using MODIS data. https://digital.csic.es/bitstream/10261/157427/1/6th_EARsel_Workshop.pdf .

Based on the latest citation data, this index is in the 2.21th percentile overall, ranking 312 out of 317 indices with citation data. Among the 41 indices published within two years of 2007, it ranks 41 (2.44th percentile). Within the burn application domain, it is in the 5.56th percentile and ranks 18 out of 18 indices with citation data. Among the 10 similarly aged burn indices, it ranks 10 (10th percentile).
