VGT-3Vegetation

PROBA-V

Instrument IDVGT3_PROBAV
satellite platform

Summary

VGT3_PROBAV (Vegetation) is a retired multispectral instrument operated by ESA on PROBA-V. It is associated with a satellite platform and has public data availability.

NOTE

VGT-3 was a miniaturized successor to the SPOT-VEGETATION instruments. Its three telescopes provided a continent-scale swath. Native nadir sampling was 100 m for the VNIR channels and 200 m for SWIR, degrading toward the swath edges; commonly distributed synthesis products use 100 m, approximately 300/333 m, or 1 km grids. The included spectral response functions are the measured central-camera responses published by VITO. Global operations ended on 2020-06-30, followed by experimental observations over Europe and Africa through 2021-10-31.
